Electrician – Building Automation Systems (BAS) & Energy Management (Grand Rapids, MI)

As an Electrician at Pulse, you’ll work on the front lines of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS)—installing and wiring low-voltage infrastructure that powers HVAC controls, digital sensors, automation platforms, and energy monitoring tools. You’ll help bring smart, sustainable infrastructure to life across commercial buildings in West Michigan.

Location: Field-based across West Michigan

Schedule:  Monday–Friday, full-time (8-hour shifts with overtime possible)

Pay Range:  $25.00 – $35.00/hour (depending on experience)

Hiring Bonus:  Eligible for sign-on bonus

The Role: Electrician – Low Voltage + BAS/EMS

As an Electrician at Pulse, you’ll work on the front lines of building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS)—installing and wiring low-voltage infrastructure that powers HVAC controls, digital sensors, automation platforms, and energy monitoring tools. You’ll help bring smart, sustainable infrastructure to life across commercial buildings in West Michigan.

What You’ll Do

  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling for HVAC and EMS components

  • Mount and wire control panels for automation and energy monitoring

  • Install ¾” and 1” conduit (hand bender experience preferred)

  • Read wiring diagrams and panel layouts

  • Travel to job sites within ~1-hour radius of Grand Rapids

  • Communicate clearly with project leads and clients

What You Bring

  • 2+ years in the electrical trade (apprentice or journeyman level)

  • Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and safety protocols

  • Familiarity with low-voltage systems or controls wiring

  • Self-motivation, reliability, and a team-first mindset

  • Willingness to work in field conditions (ladders, tools, weather, PPE)

  • Valid Michigan Driver's License 

Preferred But Not Required

  • Michigan Electrical Apprentice or Journeyman License

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

  • Previous experience in BAS, HVAC controls, or mechanical systems

  • Valid driver’s license
